The money math kids actually use

Making change is subtraction with a story: the toy costs 67¢, you hand over a dollar, how much comes back? Each row shows the price on a little tag so the setup reads like a real purchase, and the child computes 100 minus the price — counting up to the next ten and then to a dollar, the way cashiers actually do it.

Prices land anywhere from 3¢ to 99¢, so answers rehearse every fact family within 100. The answer key does double duty: it writes the change amount in green and lays the same amount out in quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies — so checking the worksheet quietly teaches the greedy coin count too.
