The backup that never crashes
Even in districts that live inside a digital gradebook, the paper grid survives — for the sub folder, the walkaround clipboard, the quick homework check at the door. This one keeps the classic anatomy: numbered rows so the class list stays in order, a wide name column, and tall blank column headers you label by hand — quiz dates, assignment names, whatever the unit needs.
Choose 20, 25, or 30 student rows and 10 or 14 assignment columns; alternating row shading keeps eyes on the right line all the way across. Shuffle rotates six colorways, so each class period or subject binder gets its own color. Print a stack in August and the year’s record-keeping is handled.
