Counting practice that draws its own reward
Dot to dot is number-order practice wearing a disguise: to make the butterfly appear, a child has to find 1, then 2, then 3, holding the count while hunting the page. The fewer-dots mode stays in the teens for pre-K counters; more-dots pushes to 40 for kids working past twenty. The green starting dot shows where to begin.
